My in-laws have a horse put to sleep tomorrow. What a good gift of sympathy? The parents of my husband are big fans of horse and have one of their favorite horses sleep tomorrow.
Naturally, they are very worried about it. My husband and I want to make them a little gift to go with a sympathy card that has already been purchased.
Other than on a frame with a photo of the horse, what would you recommend?
THANK YOU!
Be there for them, you do not say anything other than "I'm sorry, I know he / she represents a lot for you."
Try to get pictures of the head (preferably with his ears up .... or find an older one that your husband might have).
Clip of some of his mane off - enough that you can braid. Linking each section with a rubber band and wash gently. Once dry glue gun, each section. Weave a piece of thin rope braid colored or ribbon or fishing line with Native American rolls in and out of the braid. Have adhesive tape shot around the top of the braid. Attach the bottom with the fishing line and let the line loose and a little longer than the hair.
Place the braid on the carpet photo Gunning glue the top piece and the piece down the tape. In this way, they can take the braid off the mat, if they wish. On the other hand, be horseshoes type of scrapbook and will have several carpet ..... or draw if you are good at that.
You could also make a small brass plate with his name on it and tack it on the bottom of the frame.
I also put a picture of a horse on top of a photo box. Inside was the horses braided hair, a horseshoe spray painted - the horse - and several photos I had the horse.
I would also go to a discount store and buy at least 3 long garlands of flowers draped around the grave. Perhaps a concrete planter with stones and silk flowers for the head of the grave.
You are a girl sister for being so nice and attentive. All type of friend that I would have, too!
May God bless you!
A donation to a group that rescues abused horses in the name of their horse. Someone did this to me for my dog and I was genuinely touched.
It's difficult. I think most people would want something like fruit or flowers. Something nice, but something that still lag their recalling a painful memory.
I know I'm still missing my SugarBear.
I guess the glue containers Elmer is out of question, right?
Uggh ... that was not even called because it was?
In fact, I think the picture framed is a great idea! What better way to keep a memory of the horse with an image. It is much more sensitive than my suggestion above.
A photo of their horse is a good idea and maybe some flowers.
You can make a donation to an organization that helps protect the horses, or a group like the Morris Animal Foundation, which is a lot of research on diseases and injuries that horses get. Their website is www.morrisanimalfoundation.org. Please convey my condolences to your wife's family. I have been where they are more times than I can count or remember, and it never gets easier. Good luck.
Get a map, just do not lick the glue on the back.
Mabey a little horse-like figure in Thiers to remind them of him. like that

Although I think it's a nice thought, when I put my gelding down I did not want anything other than a shoulder to cry on. I do not know a gift is really what they want. The map is nice but .... just my thoughts on the subject.
I think a gift horse in the name of a horse rescue foundation would be a wonderful gift.
