India before colonialism
In the 16th and 17th centuries in India was very rich country because of its agricultural products and minerals. Western countries always wanted to establish trade relations with India and after much effort, British, French and Dutch have been able to establish trade with India. To conduct their own trades each of these countries have established trading company in India. These include the East India Company was established in Calcutta by the British was the most powerful.
This time, India was ruled by local kings and their families. Only the great Mughal Emperor was King who ruled from Delhi and its environs. However Hindu Rajput kings of Rajasthan always used to fight with the Muslim Mogul emperor. This has always been lead to religious division and lead to the weakening of all the kingdoms. So the British people came here when the power of the Mogul emperor was already the weekend by infighting. More on these local kings used to fight car capture the lands of others. This led to weak kings approach the East India Company and seeking protection from them, as they had superior weapons and modern military. Fortunately British agreed to protect these kings in return for accepting British supremacy and the fee for heavy protection. The Kings have agreed that they had a lot of money upfront, only to find themselves in a miserable situation later because their treasury was emptied rapidly due to the heavy taxes they had to pay for British. Gradually, almost all of India fell directly under British rule as they did on earth to take accuired themselves instead of giving the land to win the King in any battle or by kings have accepted their supremacy.
Opposition by the Indians:
Since the Kings are not able to pay heavy taxes that were imposed on their kingdom, they began to increase taxes on people. That lead people to start protesting against British rule. Lot of kingdoms with the support of his people tried to fight with the British, but was easily overpowered by the superior force of the British army.
Indian war of independence first:
In 1857, under the leader ship of the Queen of Zanca and some other local kings began the war against British rule. The soldiers of the British Indian army refused to fight with these kings instead of their adherence to these freedom fighters. However, they were defeated by the powerful British army mobilized from other areas. Moreover, these kings had no common goal for this fight.
Columbia, he called sepoy mutiny (uprising of soldiers) to ridicule the movement. The end of the first war of independence India has been popularized by Vinayak Damodar Savarkar a Hindu community activist and fighter for freedom.
Indian independence movement :
After the 1857 war of independence first of patriotism in India began to grow. People started thinking of India instead of the local realm. This has led to the creation of the Indian National Congress which began to fight against British rule. Indian National Congress leaders were very capable, as Bala Gangadhar Tilak, Sarda Vithalbhai Patel, Jawaharlal Nehru, Netaji Subhash Chandrabose and Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi's orating skills created a wave of patriotism across India. Gandhi understood the British to govern the country cooperation of the Indians are very necessary and it started non-cooperation strike which effectively ended the state machinery.
