Olympus Write Protect

Olympus Write ProtectNew error on Olympus Stylus 400 Digital former - "Write Protect" how do I get?

I have an old Olympus Stylus 400 Digital Camera and all of a sudden when I turn on it says "write protection" and it will not take a picture. I have not changed the settings and can not get through the menu. Help! Thank you. :) "

Remove the memory card from the camera.
The memory card has a "lock" switch on the left side.
Slide the switch to unlock position, and reinsert the card into the device.

voila!

SD cards are equipped with safety switches. The Olympus Stylus 400 uses xD cards which have no write protection. Write protect this card has probably been in error when loading the file to your computer.

Page 40 of your owner's manual says when you see this message, it means "only reading was fixed with a computer. Use the computer to cancel the read-only. "

You need to connect the card to your computer via the camera or card reader to cancel the write protection on the card.

A link to the online manual is below.
