Christmas should be a wonderful time for your family. But with the rapid pace of modern life, it seems sometimes you just run back and forth between work and Christmas shopping with little opportunity to spend time with your particular family. Often life is so busy that you might feel lucky even to get Christmas Day off!
Take time for Christmas crafts projects the family is a great way to make holiday magic. Make your own Christmas cards can be particularly fun, and it's really very simple.
There are essentially two ways to make your own Christmas cards: the way the ancient and modern.
In the old way, you can use construction paper, pencils, paints, and glue to create hand-made Christmas cards. In the modern way, you can create the map on a computer and print it. You can even buy paper specifically designed for printing greeting cards at most office supply stores or online.
Curiously, in both directions share a lot in common. After all, a Christmas card is fairly simple. You just need a good image for the front and a few short, fine text for the inside and perhaps for the cover.
I recommend picking the first photo. The colors of the image will give you a better idea of what color paper to use if you do not use white paper. Often, the image you choose to give you a perfect idea for the text.
You can get pictures from old Christmas cards or magazines and paste them on the front of the card. Or your family can draw or paint pictures. You can even find Christmas graphics online. Whether you are pasting a picture on construction paper, painting or drawing, or copy and paste on a computer screen, a large picture goes a long way to create a nice card. It sets the tone of the card. Do you want a funny card? A religious map? The image of the scene.
For the text, you can write your own greeting message or you can borrow a few lines from Christmas carols like "Twas the night before Christmas." If it is a religious map, you can even borrow a line or two entries. You can have text on the cover of the card with the picture or you can just have an idea on the front and have the text inside the card. It's quite your choice.
Fun for all ages, make your own Christmas cards is easy and does not take long. But the funniest part in the decisions and the smile on the face of the person who opens the card will never forget. How to make your own cards or make other projects the family Christmas craft, the key is that these activities create family memories that last a lifetime.
