Xd Card Error

Xd Card ErrorMy map shows xd card error when I start it in Olympus FE200 digi camera?

The FE-200 accepts xD cards all current standard type M and type H in all sizes.

It may show an error for a variety of reasons and with seeing the error code I can not give you a complete diagnosis. Anyway, I guess that is showing the most common. Card error "

This may occur because of some reasons.

The card was removed during a write session either in camera or card reader:
- If the card is removed while data is written to it will be corrupt, which can also occur if the batteries run out while taking a picture, even if it is far from common.

The card has been formatted on another device:
- The structure of the map of the inner table and the format is specific to Olympus cameras, if formatted in a computer, you may have changed to a different format, such as NTFS or FAT16, etc. .. similar can occur if the formatting in other devices too. This is not as common as the clerical error above.

The card was read using the card reader incompatible:
- Use of an H or M type card in a card reader only intended to take the standard xD cards can cause damage.

Physical damage /:
- Sometimes the cards wear out or become damaged.

Solve the problem.

Check that the card contacts, make sure they are clean and intact, make sure there is no damage to the back of the card. If all ok check card in your computer (assuming you have a compatible card reader). If the card is read ok it could be a problem camera, check your camera with another card. If the map shows the location as unformatted save it to your camera and try the format function.
Please be aware that this will permanently delete all data on the card! If this does not solve the problem, it is time to offer you a new card, I'm afraid.

If all else fails and you really want to save the map to try to capture a reader Olympus MAUSB-100 cards, it includes software that can reformat the card corrupted, it will not save any images that may be on map well.

Hope this helps.

The card may be too big for the camera. I encountered a similar problem with a Sony and that was the cause.

Sloop_Sailor is just ... Your camera is a bit old and if the card is over 2GB, it may not be compatible with your camera.

You may need to re-format your card if it was previously used in another device:)
